1937 Paris World Expo: Nazi Eagle on German Pavilion with swastika in its talons rotated 90^o

 Nazi propaganda film commissioned by Hitler to immortalize the 1934 Nazi rally in Nuremberg. The swastika represents Hitler's political party. The eagle represents his country. Together they stand for the unification of Nazism and Germany.

The year before, on January 30, 1933, Nazi leader Adolph Hitler pressured German President Paul Von Hindenburg into appointing  him the German Chancellor. He gave his first nationally broadcast speech as Chancellor on February 10, 1933 featuring the dual themes of German "resurrection" and political party "unification." At the May 10, 1933 Berlin book burning celebration of Hitler's rise to power, the Nazi Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels said this about the event:

 "The era of exaggerated Jewish intellectualism is over. The German revolution has liberated the German spirit. You do well at this midnight hour to exorcise the past in flames. This is a great and symbolic act! An act for all the world to see. The spirit of the November Republic now sinks into the ashes. But from these ashes shall rise the Phoenix of a new spirit."
