It is not unusual for a kid from a disfunctional family to loose themselves at the movies and to use them as role models. In Fuhrmans book about going to airport to look at the people is very telling as to looking how to act. If he said he did that on a lay over etc. would have been normal, but he said he deliberately went early to watch. In movies picked up plan, at airport learning to act.
