The Wizard of Oz
The Scarecrow traveled a great distance for a brain he demonstrated along the way that he did not need. Again and again he showed that he was the "brains" of the outfit when his friends did not know what to do.
The fake Wizard of Oz gives the scarecrow an honorary Degree of THD making him a "Doctor of Thinkology." With his diploma in hand, he finds himself reciting a theorem in geometry regarding a certain kind of triangle. "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side."
The fake diploma bestowed by the fake wizard does not give the Scarecrow what he asked for. It just give him a paper that says he has it. |
Murder in Greenwich
Fuhrman did not get a high school diploma because he drooped out of high school. He enlisted in the Marine Corps where his education put him heads and shoulders above most people. During and after his term of enlistment, he took community college classes. He educated himself through print and electronic media as well as on the job experience. He went on to repeatedly demonstrate his superior knowledge and intelligence in challenges he presented to the world.
You'd think that the # 1 status of his first book on the New York Times Bestseller List would appear in a document that he could frame and put on his wall. Instead, he shows fuzzy documents that could pass for real diplomas or doctorates in Thinkology. |
