Since Dick did all of the work on the map and pictures and you sent them to me, my praise and congratulations go to both of you.
I know that you, Dick and I put the truth first. My problem is that most people assume that my first priority is to "get Fuhrman." What they don't realize is how much my position has changed and how much it has always rested on information that I didn't have. That is to say, Fuhrman was not my first choice for a suspect because the information I had at the time pointed mostly to O.J. When I opened up to the possibility that O.J. might not have done it I ran into dead ends with the trails of evidence leading to every other suspect. I scratched Fuhrman because I thought he had and alibi until Johnnie Cochran's closing arguments demonstrated that the defense never checked it out.
The list of things I didn't know about Fuhrman that had to be true if he were guilty was so long and intricate that if all of them did prove to be true he had to be guilty. A false alibi was only one of them. By the same token, if any of them proved not to be true he couldn't have done it. The Bundy/Gorham curve was the last crucial piece of the puzzle that I couldn't give a definite true or false answer to because I didn't have the proof until I saw the pictures.
My entire thesis is predicated on the idea that someone with a background in military kills committed the murders with Ron Goldman slated as a victim from the start. For that to be true the active killer had to have a lookout on Bundy who could observe the entrances and exits to the "kill zone" without being notice. The lookout had to be far enough away to be disassociated from the killings if someone happened to drive by at an inopportune moment. He also had to be close enough to the kill zone to assist the active killer if he ran into an unforeseen problem. The spot by the trashcans fits those requirements perfectly.
More about Aaronson, Mandel and the leash later. Right now I'll just say that the timeline is the key. If we can figure out a way to reach an agreement on that, everything will fall into place for both of us. -- Jasper
