This makes more sense than what we had gleened before about the timeline.
I wondered when MF proposed this Foster book because he to my knowledge had ZERO contacts in DC who would be willing to deal with him at all. Perhaps Goldberg couldn't even get Tripp to deal with him either.
The people who had written about Foster to that point had been journalists which a hugh group of contacts. And the "research" experience that MF did not have either.
With the exception of Brentwood in which his was just telling his tale--little or no documentation. Diagrams, etc. were of his own doing, the other two books have been with the "assistance" of others. The Greenwich book was documents and notes from Dunne and intros he would never have gotten w/out Dunne. And Spokane is done about his "investigation" via a radio talk show and with the assistance of this guy. Much is talking about what the cops did and what they didn't do and their "questioning" of the cops' actions. Also, several "stunts' were done with the talk show host like going to the scenes or building up "leads" that were dead ends in the end but made to be Huge via the radio talk show. The cops wouldn't give him the time of day.
So, just how is he going to do the Foster book without assistance? Think anyone is going to trust him now where they didn't before?
When Ruddy did the book, he had documents, interviews, etc. that were given to him or he abtained thru his work as a journalist. People were willing to talk to him. Much of his book is going thru the documents and showing where the FBI changed things --analysizing it word for word, comparing it to other documents and then interviewing the people and comparing it to the documents.
Analysizing documents doesn't seem like MF's style. Comparing the documents and interviews to the actual Fiske Report and then the Starr Report doesn't seem his style either.
And somehow i don't think Tripp and some of the other 'witnesses" or the Clinton people in the WH and others are going to be too anxious to talk to Fuhrman either.
Just because he has those successful books now isn't going to change that I don't think.
Fuhrman still isn't a person that most want to clamor to get close to and confide in.
