My daughter taught me a neat trick. Discontiue your long distence completely. Use only phone cards. She gets them at SAMS CLub for 3 cents a minute. No one can charge you unless they have the card number and can only spend the amount of the card. Also your computer cannot connect you to long distence.
My son has no phone service at all. Only a cell phone. You can't do that if you have a computer hooked to a phone. You still have to pay the connecting fee on regular phone bill for people to call you.
But it is a heck of a lot cheaper with a phone card and you can't get extra charges, you did not make.
