My friend, Sherman Skolnick, an investigative reporter from Chicago of some note--told me YEARS ago that he was being told that Fred Goldman was in CA under perhaps an assumed name and disguised looks. The mustasche (sp) was what was continually brought up.
Bill Shreck and I did research (Chicago newspapers) and found that Fred more than likely was part of the scene with Marvin Glass. For sure, he met Patty while her husband was on the run for the Feds. Glass's trial was over in June and Fred and Patty had married by the next February.
Also, we learned that Glass was sentenced to 8 years (while Patty sat with him every day) and he was released early due to health and having AIDS from the blood transfusions when he was struck by the hit and run car in Florida--and when he was found.
Guess what? Almost 8 years to the day of when he was Supposed to get out is when Ron Goldman was killed.
I read in the Chicago Tribune that the Glass's were living the "high life' when he went into private practice. Held huge parties with thousands of people. One where he rode into the party on a live elephant.
Goldman is a man who was a single father (due to Sharon's disappearing act) for most of the time before Patty. However, there WAS another marriage in between Sharon and Patty which most people don't know about. It was of short term and generally believed a marriage for the "care" of Kim and Ron.
Makes you wonder how Patty and Fred got together. Bill Schreck believes they were together before the trial while Marvin was on the run.
If you have ever heard of read the many times that Kim has been unable to answer the question what her father does for a living, you really begin to wonder.
