Glass sure did more than just being a drug lawyer. His job was similar to what Lansky did for the mob. He was the middle man between smugler and dealer and took a cut of all transactions.
What we don't know is if Patty took some of that money into the marriage to Fred. Also don't know how Fred and Patty got involved in the first place or if Fred was part of the Chicagp drug scene.
