Thinking this over and really wondering now.
That phone call that Lange made back to the Chicago motel told him OJ had a cut after 630.
They even admit to the call in Evidence Dismissed. They don't admit knowing he had a cut but the motel clerk put forth a proffer (sp) that she told them about it when they called to see if OJ had checked out yet. She was so mad at what she called OJ's rudeness, she told them about it. She also cleaned up and bandaged it. Lange says the call was at about 640.
I have always questioned their denial of knowing about the cut. The Chicago cops got that statement from her but someone it never came in because Ito barred a lot of the calls back and forth with airlines, etc. and this one got into the mix.
You may recall that the cell phone calls of the cops that night was another 'no-no" as far as Ito was concerned and the records were blacked out in most cases. Just like it was national security or something and not even given to the defense.
It could well be that Roberts knew of the cut when he was putting those cards down on the driveway.
