I work at a place that has a time clock.
We also have time stamps on the computer/cash registers. We also now have the little machines that you slide your credit card on. We have only had them since the middle of February.
As a business-they would not EVER go for a month or more without changing the clocks and other time dated material.
Someone said here that Ron clocked out at 933 but I am remembering that he didn't clock out but that DeBello signed him out later.
Reason for my belief. There was an exchange on the stand with DeBello about that Ron had once before that week failed to clock out and DeBello filled in the time and initialed it.
I recall that he said he did the time cards on Sunday night and needed to go ahead and do it since the payroll had to be done.
I see no need for all the discussion of whether Ron was in the habit of leaving w/out clocking out if he had in fact clocked out on Sunday night.
All the discussion that Kari mentions about Ron leaving earlier according to rumor or first reports are puzzling if Ron didn't come in til 4 or so. Is that true? I remember the waitress coming in at that time.
I am curious as to when they said that Ron came in. I don't recall.
It is not unusual for me to have 4 hr shifts due to my back problems. I am scheduled that way. The usual shift is 6 hrs or more. Part-time tends to be 6 hrs. Other people who are part-time after a full time job come in say from 5-9. Some from 6 to 9 (and til the staff goes home).
I understand that restuarant opens ?? around 11 for lunch. Perhaps some of these folks worked the "rush" hours at times.
And I don't think Ron was in a financial position to just pick and chose when he worked--or leave early at every possible chance.
A business such as that--to get back to the time-stamped stuff---would have people who used the receipts etc for tax purposes. Having the wrong date or time on them would not be a good idea or make them popular with folks who had to coordinate business lunches with their taxes or with their expense accounts.
