I agree with you about things not being happy when they parted.
Judy says something about Denise thinking she was mad at her all the way home. Says not true but that she had a bad feeling. What brought on this bad feeling? Did it come out of nowhere or out of something that happened at dinner?
Was Denise drinking? Wine was served.
Denise's behavior--as you yourself have commented on--is not good at best--and when drinking (as at Nic's and OJ's wedding (video)) it is AWFUL.
Perhaps Denise was supposed to stay over at Nic's for the night due to the court appearance the next day and she ticked off Nicole enough for that not to happen---something that Judy could be upset about.
