While talking about the keys, the car, the phone calls the possible set up to make this look earlier than it was--I failed to remember that the girl-Andrea Scott--told on national tv that she talked to Ron that night after he got home and he was dressing to go out.
She was calling Internationally (from Canada) so it should have been easy to document.
When Dick did his timeline of Ron's time after work to get him there in time to be killed by 1015--which Dick believed happened--there was not a second to spare. Everything had to happen--clip, clip, clip, or it didn't happen--on time.
What about this call? Cochran even mentions it in the Opening Statements. She mentioned it on national tv.
She says she was calling about her return home the next day.
ANy call--even if less than 5 minutes, adds time to the timeline.
It was dropped later. For one thing, Scott learned pretty quick that if you didn't go by what Fred Goldman wanted you to do as to this trial--you were put on his family's s--t list--pronto. Telling anything that would not be along the prosecution's line was considered to be a betrayal.
So at some point, she may have told the cops she was mistaken and it was dropped because they sure as hell didn't want to follow the lead.
I am trying to recall but it seems to me that the call was after 1010 and even perhaps at 1020.
Perhaps he picked up thinking it was those guys calling again--just before he started out to Nicole's.
Or do we have her on the answering machine tapes saying Ron if you are there pick up--and that part has been hidden. He might have ignored the calls from those guys--but picked up for her.
Whatever the case---this call that she claimed to have with Ron was not followed thru.
Was she ever on the witness list? Like early on. Perhaps so, since Cochran mentions it in the Opening Statement.
But the more I think about it--the stopped watch at 1003, the phone calls to the station at 1030 to imply that 2 deaths have happened earlier and they are "sitting' on the bodies, and Ron's car which shows up without having any car keys in the crime scene (or at the very very least they are not listed as evidence in the crime scene) and his apartment key is not there---is beginning to look like an attempt to "plant" evidence of an earlier death---all of it --not just the watch.
