We can be sure this didn't happen. For one thing, Scott's car was there. If Ron didn't drive it, then how did it get to Dorothy?
Also, remmeber, Ron had a pre-existing appointment with a friend in Marina Del Rey. It's hard to imagine him walking to Nicole's and then having to walk back to his apartment to get the car!
