My business line calls are on a separate bill from my personal call. Don’t know why I never thought about that as being the reason Juditha’s 10:17 call didn’t show up on the bill Marcia presented to the jury. I thought that it was because she used a cell phone. It never entered my mind that the business line was why the defense stipulated to the call. The fact that Juditha ran a home-based business meant that you are right; she must have had a phone line that would not show up on her personal bill.
Jean and I disagree about the personal bill being a forgery. I am confident that it is legitimate. But if you saw a close up copy of the bill that Dr. Johnson put on the net and Jean sent to me, you will see immediately why she is so certain it is a fake. The columns don’t line up straight. There are all kinds of distortions in the entries and some of them look as though they were drawn in crudely by hand.
To me, these things were typical of third or fourth generation copies (depending on the copier). I’ve seen all of these things before, including the misaligned columns and things that you wouldn’t think a copier could screw up. Every time Ford adjusted its pay system, a secretary would make a copy and pass it on to someone in the general salary roll who wasn’t supposed to see it. There were never enough copies to go around, so someone took the copy he had, copied the copy and passed on the copy of the copy to other people who wanted to see it. Eventually it resulted in a copy that was so distorted nobody could read it.
Dr. Johnson is a friend of O.J. and a nice guy but he was on a mission to prove that O.J. was innocent so he took Juditha’s first statement that she last spoke to Nicole at 11:00 as a fact and proceeded from there to prove it. He calculated that it would have been impossible for Juditha to have made her call to Mezzaluna as the record produced in court indicated that she did at 9:37 because Dana Point was too far away for her to have gotten home in time to do it. That was the basis upon which he petitioned to see the original phone bill. He told me that the bill would show an eleven o’clock call and I should forget Iago (where I argue that Nicole killed before 10:45) and the phone record would prove that he was right.
When the record did not show an 11:00 call but did show a 9:37 call, Dr. Johnson declared that the record was forged and released it to the internet as you will see it on Dick Wagner’s site when it goes up again. –Jasper
