The Bruno Magli shoe company made a lot of shoes in various styles. They made high tops, low-quarters and loafers. They made men’s shoes and women’s shoes. Nicole wore Bruno Magli’s. Bruno Magli Lorenzos were identical to Bruno Magli Lyons except the Lorenzos’ had a higher heel, which left a longer gap between the heel and the sole in the bloody imprints. The Lorenzos were the only Bruno Magli’s that could have left that imprint. Like Hushpuppies, the Lorenzos had a sued finish.
Bruno Magli Lorenzos were last sold in December 1992. The FBI’s shoe expert called the shoes in the Flammer photos Bruno Magli Lorenzos based on the height of the heel. In all other respects they were the same as Lyons. Bruno Magli Lyons would have vindicated O.J. because the killer’s shoes left the same imprint as Bruno Magli Lorenzos.
O.J. sometimes wore sued, high top shoes (technically, they were boots) similar to the Bruno Magli Lorenzos. He wore them to the recital. However, his shoes did not have strings, the stitching was different and the soles and heels were different. His shoes were not Bruno Magli’s (the brand name), much less Lorenzos (the style).
The photos that got laughed off the air (Harry Scull’s photos) during the criminal trial in '85 were not the ones that the civil trial took seriously. The ones that were shown to the civil trial jury (E.J. Flammer’s photos) in January, 1997 weren’t available to anyone other than the men who produced them until late December of 1996. Those shoes did match all of the special characteristics of Bruno Magli Lorenzos. They also matched ALL of the special conditions required to make convincing fakes. –Jasper
