Miss Marple,
Go to the fist Smoking Gun, chapter 3: Mirror Mirror. You will see a close-up of a “Flammer” photo showing O.J. in the Bruno Magli Lorenzos four photos up from the bottom. The full photo shows O.J. and the shoes
Lynch gave Kelly 30 photos. All of them were shown in court. 27 were full-length group shots of O.J. with five other men. Among them were, Denny Lynch, Bill Munson and E.J. Flammer’s father. E.J.’s father arranged for his son to take the photos because he was a friend of Denny Lynch who controlled access to the stadium prior to the football game. The people who where present came by invitation only. The photographers were supposed to sign in – but the sign-in sheet disappeared so there is no telling who was there. If McElroy was in the group picture, Flammer probably was there, but McElroy could have taken the three solo shots of O.J. That might also explain the change in film.
Most of the group shots appear to have been taken in rapid succession because there is little difference between them. I can’t say for sure because I only saw a few of them.
Two things to keep in mind:
1) The distinctive characteristics of Bruno Magli Lorenzos were explained and demonstrated with a pair of size 12 Lorenzos during the trial. How the prosecution got hold of a pair in that size is another question.
2) The size-12 Lorenzos were rare but they were also made in sizes that weren’t rare.
The easiest way to make the fakes would have been with a real pair of Lorenzos sized and angled to match the shoes that O.J. actually wore in the photos. Who knows, McElroy might have been inspired to fake the shots because he had a pair of his own. More likely though, he found a source for the shoes or good pictures (from an old Bruno Magli brochure, perhaps) and made the necessary adjustments.
What I ‘m suggesting here is that Pat Valentino’s emulsion numbers may not be the only way to prove to everyone that the photos were fakes. If Flammer, Scull, Lynch, Munson or McElroy can be tied to a pair of Bruno Magli Lorenzos after they appeared on television, that should do it. –Jasper
