The general public especially forgets that Fuhrman plead the 5th and didn't return to be challenged on his statements in court earlier in the trial.
It was always clear that he could be impeached on a variety of issues other than the N word. One was the times he was in the crime scene and the photos taken. (which he has now basically conceded in one of his books--Spokane, I think--but Jean found that).
I think one of the things the defense could have trashed his credibility on was this 89 report. They probably had talked to these Westec people and others and could have proven that the Westec guy called Fuhrman or some such thing.
And I never forget that Ito himself made an aside in open court that he wondered about Fuhrman roaming thru the lives of Nicole and OJ. He implied the 84 incident, the 89 incident, the Oct. 911 in 93 and the harassing calls when he listed the things. I think he spoke of things not in evidence when he did. I think there is more to Fuhrman's involvement in their lives than we even know of. I recall specifically that I was really taken back when Ito mentioned the 93 Oct 911 call.
I was unaware that M. Day's testimony changed from the criminal trial to the civil trial.
And don't forget that Ito didn't allow the defense to bring the June 12/13th Westec people to court to testify that the cops were already inside the gates of Rockingham when they arrived as they proferred.
