The letter in the house with O.J.’s return address on it always struck me the same way as did the package in the Bronco addressed to Cathy Randa with “Orenthal Enterprises” in plane view: name association to the murders, pure and simple. They struck me as being found and moved to a place where they would have the strongest and most immediate psychological impact. The content of that letter and that package weren’t important. The important thing was where they were found and whose name was on them under what circumstances.
The other letter, the one that Fuhrman found, was clearly a necessary piece of legal documentation. However, that’s not how Marcia used it. She used it as evidence that O.J. was on a mission to hurt Nicole – to inflict emotional pain on her without regard to the effect it would have on their children (like killing her with the kids in the house). It was an extension of her spouse-abuse case and that’s how most people saw it and recalled it.
Like the drops on the floor that looked like blood and the supposition about why the Bronco was parked at an “extreme angel” to the curb, it left a false impression. It looks to me like its discovery was designed to do just that. –Jasper
