My reason for posting what Elliot wrote about Michelle's army background was to maybe explain how this small woman could have handled a hysterical Nicole. I doubt that Elliot interviewed Michelle for the book and so it seems more likely that he got that "tidbit" from Kato.
I wouldn't trust Edwards' impression of Michele's ethnicity. My impression of Edwards was that he had a somewhat fuhrmanistic view of the world.
I generally don't trust anything I read. However, you can sift through "tidbits of information and gossip about people” and find something you haven't thought about before.
