Taoo sauce might be the better of the two but I agree with Miss Marple--and have always thought this. The whatever it was could have been planted there that morning to purposely show to Kato or to give probable cause.
John mentions that they stopped looking in the house after it was determined that nobody was dead in the house or bleeding and needing help. I find it not credible that they stopped after just looking downstairs. I don't think OJ's lawyers or the jury did either.
As it is, we know from Fuhrman's own words that he was upstairs at about 8 or so --when he wasn't supposed to be. They didn't have a warrant yet.
If they looked over the house--including that inside maid's room by the kitchen--they would have looked in the foyer.
And if I recall correctly, Fuhrman allegedly went out the front door on his way to look outside down the side of the house.
Fuhrman was "missing" for 15 or 20 minutes while out looking.
What is least credible is that they stopped looking in the house after they searched only downstairs.
And Kari brought up an excellent point. Vannatter and Fung allegedly switched over the blood vial of OJ's blood standing in the place where the blood drops (real) were located.
