Miss Marple, exactly right. Men have some funny ideas about these things. I knew this girl who knew this guy. He was very anti homosexual. He was in construction and this gay guy delivered stuff. And all these anti homosexuals had sex with the gay guy. Now the did not consider it a homosexual act cause they where not gay. And where against the gay guy.
I can see why Scott would not say that she was a hooker as it guys don't like to admit they pay for it. And it seems that she was a hooker in the past.
