The way you and Kari worked out the time it would have taken to fit in all of the activities at the recital is the same way Jean worked out her recital timeline. Engineers do this sort of thing all the time when they don’t have solid data to use. They make assumptions based on their experience with problems that appear to be similar. The numbers look reasonable on paper but they don’t add up in the real world because tiny variables they don’t expect have a way of creeping into them. The errors are cumulative. They usually run in the same direction, because the unknown factor pushes them in one direction, so the errors don’t cancel each other out.
You might reasonably assume that the recital began late because events “like this” ALWAYS run late, that the program ran long because events “like this” always run long, etc. But what if this program was fundamentally different? What if the organizers kicked it off at 5:00 on the button and managed it so that it would end at 6:15 or 6:30 on the button come hell or high water in deference to the tight schedules of the children’s parents? I is conceivably to me that entire program could have been managed specifically to insure that Nicole wasn’t late for dinner….
You can’t take Candice Garvey’s word for anything. Her story about going home to feed the baby sounds all wring to me. Where is the confirmation that she did it? Maybe Steve Garvey wasn’t called to testify because he could provide only confirmation that she didn’t. She may have been attuned mostly to getting back to her next snort of cocaine.
I’m not pulling this cocaine business out of a hat. Christian Reichardt said Nicole, Fay, Kris Jenner, Cici Shahian and Candice Garvey had some things in common that Cora Fischman didn’t. He said that he didn’t consider Cora a part of that group because she didn’t frequent Mezzaluna and she didn’t use cocaine. I haven’t heard of any of the women he said used cocaine suing him for slander. Have you?
Candice Garvey didn’t necessary leave the recital to snort up in the ladies room. She could have gone to Mezzaluna. Doses anyone know where Keith Zlomsowitch was during the recital? Garvey to wherever he was. She certainly wasn’t going to testify that she went to see him if she did. –Jasper
