John,

Archiving the discussion boards is a major pain in the ass. That’s one reason I set up different boards designed for discussions on different broad topics. I archive the Iago board every month because if it goes longer that that it tends to fill up and slow down so much that it takes forever on some computers to get into it or to post a message. Normally, the Messiah board would have few messages and I wouldn’t have to archive it for months. It’s also easer to do searches if the information you’re looking for is in the same general category. That’s also why I put the relevant links (Iago, Wagner, Transcripts, Junot, Animations, etc.) on the Iago Discussion Board.

In the past I had problems with my server that created havoc with one board or another so that when people tried to post to them their messages sometimes didn’t show up for weeks and sometimes not at all. Sometimes you couldn’t reply to them so people stopped trying to post to them at all. When we had big problems with the Iago board (where most of this stuff belongs) last year and the year before, you could get around it by posting to another board. It’s good to have that kind of flexibility but I really hate to see it done when it isn’t necessary.

I suspect that you started posting Iago messages to the Messiah board because the messages pages on the Iago board were too hard for you to read. Unfortunately that lettering and background format comes ups as a default and at the time I was too ill to change it.

You started some threads on this board that have kept most of us here most of the time. I don’t like to keep telling people which board to post to so I hoped that everyone would eventually catch on to the probelm and start posting Iago messages on the Iago board. But it’s sort of like slurping a long stand of spaghetti. Once you start it’s hard to quit until the whole thing is gone. –Jasper
