I wish I had access to a photo that I have seen (only once or twice) of OJ at the recital --taken with Sidney. It is the WhOLE photo, not the cropped version. (This case was Big on cropped versions of photos). In it, OJ's shoes showed as to what he wore that night and they were not anything like any of the BM shoes.
To the best of my memory, they were a type of casual slipon that would be popular in LA but here in Ky. would be called "sissy" shoes.
Does anybody have a video of the video taken at the recital? I have never looked at it for the purpose of looking to see what kind of shoes he had on--but it's a possibility that one could tell with the video.
What people seem to forget is that OJ had a years long habit of every 6 months or so or cleaning out his closets of clothes he no longer wore and giving them to family and friends. This is well documented. Even Marcus Allen ended up with some of these clothes.
I have often thought if OJ did have a pair of these ugly-assed shoes that were given to him and he didn't wear them, he would have given them away in the first 6 month give away that came along.
You or I might keep a brand new pr of shoes in the closet that we no longer wore (if we ever did) but OJ cleaned out that closet and gave away on a regular basis to make room for the new stuff he did wear.
He didn't even bother to bring back to LA the winter stuff he had in the NYC apartment. That doorman (named Furman oddly) took the stuff away in bags and kept it or handed it out to friends and family and the Good Will.
I would think only a selected number of people could wear the size 12 shoes. Although I must point out that according to the civil trial, OJ had shoes in his closet from size 10 1/2 to 13 depending on the style and brand.
I personally have 7's, 7 1/2's and 8's in my closet for the same reason.
