Amen and dittos, Jean.

From what I know of Carl Sagan, he at times acted as the "debunker" who is determined to debunk no matter what he finds in his research or what his evidence shows.

I have read some books by debunkers and many times I find that their "explanations' are far far stranger than the paranormal explanation. That they take much more of a stretch of credibility.

Now, on the other hand, Sagan would turn around and write something like Contact and some other things that actually gave the impression that he thought just the opposite of his other works.

Which is this, John? A debunker or a believer.

I have also heard interviews with people who knew him and knew him well and they, to a person, said that what he said in private to them was just the opposite of what he would say in public.

There are some profession debunkers (which Sagan tried to be) that are so closed minded in their approach that they would deny it if God himself with Jesus Christ at his side appeared in front of them.

One such debunker is a man named Randy. That is all he goes by and he is forever "betting" a million dollars to psychics and such if they can prove to him they are for real. Which he would never accept ANY proof no matter what it was. And on top of that, he doesn't show any of the money and refuses to prove he even has it or to put it in a trust fund of some sort til the test is over. He is just blowing smoke.
