I think by the title that he disputes all metaphysics. Many people have been able to give alternate scientific explanations for any type of metaphysics.
The problem on my part is that I have personally experienced too many meaphysical experiences that can not be explained away by chance or trickery of any kind. Could I prove any of it, not really. That is the problem what happens that is so personal is just not provable as scientific reasearch can do.
In science 2 reasearches who use the exact same methologies can prove a hypothsis or theory. Many reasearches over time can go on to prove a law with the means that are available at the time.
But like dreams, metaphysical experiences are not repeatable. There are no gurantees that if you do the same thing that you will get the same results. But if you experience them personally, then you know that they are real.
I have no real desire to prove or disprove whether a thing is true or not true in this field. I just know that having experienced the things that I have has made me a much more contented person. I also realize that it would just be the reverse for some people. I tend to go along with the Buddest philosopy that everyone comes around to believing in their own time.
Now if I misjudged from the title of the book, I stand with egg on my face. Oh well it is good for the complexion.
