Has anyone ever had an experience of "hearing" from the dead? Or getting a sign from the dead?

I have.

After my father passed away back in 92 which had it own set of experiences, I had other things to happen that were unexplained.

I live in a house that has a full finished basement apartment that I lived in while my parents lived on the main floor. This was done for the kitchen and stairs that my parents couldn't deal with the steps on a daily basis. I was very familiar with what it sounded like when I was in the basement and they walked around upstairs. Even though we had carpet upstairs to keep down the sounds that they made walking around. But there was some noise anyway when they did.

Several times after his death I would hear walking upstairs when nobody was there. I would go upstairs to see if Mom had returned and I didn't hear her come in. Sometimes I even walked up with a weapon in hand because I was sure that someone had broken into the house. I am NOT talking of the house settling. I am talking about real sounds of walking the length of the house. I would search every room and nobody would be there. These noises had not been there prior to my father's death unless somebody was really walking around.

After about 5 or 6 times checking these noises out convinced some robber was going to jump out at me, I stopped looking and just said out loud, "Hi Dad, thanks for visiting." After a while they stopped. It has been years since it has happened. If it was something physical, I believe I would still be hearing this sound of walking still.

I did NOT imagine these sounds. A couple of times, I would walk upstairs calling out to Mom (who I thought had come home) thinking it was her.

I never SAW anything. But my Dad was a big man and his walking thru the house always could be heard from downstairs.

After a while, I stopped thinking I had a robber and quit being afraid. I always did check however, because you never know when someone might break into the house.
