Jasper, Yes, you nailed it. There are people who no matter what "evidence' that they have for ESP or an afterlife or something "more"--they will make excuses to fill the universe.
I don't mean to say this stuff goes on every day of my life--it doesn't. But when it does--it is so spectacular to me that I have to take note of it.
Usually all the blood drains from my face and look like I might faint or hyperventalate.
Sometimes it is just small things that I just shake my head over.
I, too, have done some of the "tests" with people. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I think it depends on the other person and their abilities and whether they are really trying or not.
Once my sister and I did this. She was going into a fast food place to pick up out order. I stayed in the car. I was to pick a number for 1-10 and concentrate on it the Whole time she was in there and she was to try to pick it up. When she came back to the car, she opened the door and sat down and looked at me and said--It's 8--with total confidence--no guessing. And it was was. But you see, we were both really trying. Not messing around and pretending to do it.
