Jasper, I didn't make myself clear. When I said I chose to believe, I didn't mean I decided that one day over the alternative. What I meant was that given the experiences I have had I chose to believe that it means an afterlife and not something else--like coincidence or someone playing a trick on me. These are NOT tricks that can be played (what I have experienced).
I know exactly what you are saying though. You have to be in that place in order to believe. I have seen others who have had similiar experiences make every excuse in the book not to believe it means anything.
Many times a person evolves to that point as well. Just like they mature as time goes on or change their minds politically as time goes on. As you say, every 7 years we are new people.
