Thought I would post this. The guys really apprecated our effort. A group of us sent 9 boxes (400 Lbs) of stuff from home to a Helicopter unit in Iraq.

================================================= Regards From Iraq: Maj Brian S. "Moses" xxxxxx

Hello, all,

The boxes we mailed out to Iraq on June 3 have arrived! Brian (my brother) requested the e-mail addresses of those who participated. As such, I am forwarding the note he sent about receiving the packages and I'm copying him. Read below to see his response. And thank you, thank you, thank you again for all of your support. I can't say that enough.

Dear Craig,

No need to wait anymore-- 7 of them arrived today. I think there are 2 more coming...

Let me say this: I have seen lots of people receive packages, but these are completely over the top! Unbelievable!!! To say that it is excessive is an insult to excessive!!!! I can tell you unequivocally that you made a TON of people happy.

This is my plan for distribution. First, I let my guys take what they wanted. Next, I will take what is left over to the maintenance department. Craig, you would be amazed at how hard these guys work day in and day out to keep the helicopters flying. Most every day is 14+ hours-- even more if you are flying. Yesterday, I was the test pilot for the squadron and spent from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM straight out on the flight line. The high was 109 degrees. These guys work in these conditions every day...

Once the maintenance guys go through it, I will arrange to transport the rest to one of the forward operating bases (FOBs). These FOBs are aptly named-- out in the middle of nowhere with zero luxuries. Believe me, they will be happy to receive some of this as well...

I have thought about support for the troops these last couple of hours since receiving the packages. We hear a lot of negatives on the news that we do see and all collectively wonder what's on everyone's mind back in the States. You and your co-workers have provided a huge morale boost to a lot of folks-- I can't thank you all enough for that.

Is it possible that I can get addresses (e-mail or otherwise) for those who contributed? I would like to thank them personally and let them know how this is touching the lives of so many hard-working Marines.

OK, meeting in 7 minutes-- gotta scoot. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I will look forward to hearing from you so I can thank the others... Love to your family...

Love, Brian Maj Brian S. "Moses" Xxxxxx, USMC Logistics Officer Deployed -- Iraq
