Jean,
Stories like this don’t sound credible to me. If it ware true it would scare everybody for the same reason racism directed against black people should scare everybody. Whether we like it or not we need each other for the quality of life we enjoy and that we aspire to. In addition, a spillover effect ALWAYS hurts people outside of the targeted group. As if those things weren’t enough, what’s to say that the formula used to kill one group today won’t be used to kill anther group tomorrow.
This biggest problem I have with this story is the nature of “race” itself. Biologically speaking there is only one human race. The differences between groups are mostly cultural, environmental and superficial. Some hereditary diseases, for example, are found more in one “racial” group than another but heredity, by definition, the passing on of familial traits from on generation to another. If the bloodline began in another environment or mixed sufficiently with other bloodlines the trait would have either never gotten started or it would have disappeared.
I think that the story itself was designed to be the “infection” and the antidote is to ignore it. –Jasper
