I too want to hear more about the others---and the search for Scott Speicher from the first Gulf War.

Yep, I do side with Bush on this. Sept 11th is something we should never forget and SHOULD have had the military actions that it did. There is some evidence that both Saddam and Bin Laden after Samolia thought we would cut and run.

And I think all the Dem candidates who act NOW like they weren't for it either--are a bunch of liars.

All this trashing and bashing and saying the money could be better spent on schools and roads does not take into account that these terrorists are trying to destroy us. And if we let them, there won't be any street and schools to put money into if they have their way.

I do NOT think the threat of terrorists is overdone. If anything, it is understated.

The Dem candidates with this --let's withdraw --and forget about the terrorists and concentrate only on domestic policies are not the kinds of leaders I want.

Jasper and I have talked about this before. The terrorists actually began their war way back in the 70's with escalating results. The first World Trade Center was an act of war--not a crime for the FBI as it was treated. About that time was when Bin Laden publicly declared war on the US.

The POW's were lucky--damned lucky --with their capturers. They got in with some regular Iraqi's and lived. The others were not so lucky.

If you have ever read much about the first Gulf War, you would learn the POW's were mistreated and the female ones were raped. That was downplayed but is what happened.

I think Jessica Lynch is a media invention. Not that what happened to her didn't happen but they blew up her "stardom". The Pentagon didn't do it. They did it.

Just like now. Reporters who go to back to Iraq now say the improvements are GREAT. The country is making great strides and are stunned by what the daily news out of Iraq is. They are confounded by it.

I am saddened by each and every death of there and am sorry that it still going on. Many of those fighters poured over the borders of Syria and Iran and are causing trouble. But to put it into perspective---there is more violence that goes on in the state of CA in one day than what happens in Iraq each day. There are more deaths in LA or DC by murder by day than over there.

We have nutcases burning down multimillion dollar car dealerships and other building projects out of some misguided sense of "ideals".

These terrorists can't take us on straight on but they can send thousands of sleepers over here and blow up things, shoot up schools, and any number of other things that they could do that would tear this country up and shut it down. And they aren't afraid to die while doing it and it makes them the most dangerous people on earth.

I also think the other POW's turned down the movie and book offers--unlike the Lynch family---and I think I know why. I think Jessica's injuries are much worse than people have said and that she will be under medical care for YEARS and may not ever be able to walk correctly. She certainly can't return to the military.

Oh, well, I will get off my soap box now.

I thank God every day we had a George Bush rather than one of the Dem candidates who would have been more interested in paying them off or sitting by the campfire with them asking them what did WE do wrong and singing Cum Ba Ya.
