Boy, I can't let this post go by without a comment. (Big surprise :) I heard a man call in on the Randi Rhodes show (Air America radio, guest-hosted by Laura Flanders yesterday) who gave grave testimony to what is probably the most treasonous, dispicable act to come out of the whole catastrophic N.O. episode, '05. He said he escaped to the Algiers section that is across the river and which was spared from flooding. He stated that the levee was deliberately breached in a given spot to flood the poorer districts and save the better, high tax areas. He also offered that Mayor Ray Nagin (once a Republican; now a Democrat) in some way was responsible for this fiasco by not being more forceful when dealing with the problems. He obviously had an axe to grind and did not like Nagin and said his predessor was a better, more ethical leader. He also said that Nagin was actually still very much in the Bush camp and had purchased a home in Dallas. I do most honestly hope and pray some of this info will come out for public appraisal. But we all know how unlikely that will be. But consider this: how likely is it that this hurricane was so strategically placed and so precisely timed (another "trifecta?") for the failing Bush fortunes. As off-the-wall as it appears on first glance, (and given that I am prone to conspiracy theories), is anyone else picking up on the cues?--that the Tesla Scalar-inspired HAARP machine is controlling the weather and the path of hurricanes and able to trigger an earthquake with its resulting tsunami? As much as my rational self wants to discount that possibility, my intuitive self wants to research and mull over these questions, which just may be the most important of this century and of our lives. Farmers in the plains midwestern US proffered the theory years ago that the US gov was controlling the weather and ruining the productive capacity in the breadbasket of the world. That land has been sold (often at auction after foreclosure of small farms) to the great agri-business firms. These firms are notorious for causing health hazards in the regions they control with toxic run-off into fragile ecosystems and the aquafers--con taminating drinking water, etc. They also are engaging in bioengineering of grains and other edible products. That is a black hole in food production just beginning to be explored by alarmed scientists and advocates for safe food. What is more basic than what we eat? The science to genetically-tweak growing organisms is once again manipulated into control mechanisms; only technology evolves. Think about that and put it into context with what is happening in New Orleans. All progess in technology is turned against the people of our planet and food itself is 'weaponized,' along with insects, bacteria and viruses to hasten natural human selection. How did we get to this point in history? marilyn
