As much as I want think we are not falling down the rabbit hole into oblivion, intuitively I know things never remain the same forever and our little world must undergo cataclysmic ruptures every now and again; before it only happened somewhere else. Now it's happening here and there will be readjustments to our own reality, our place in the universe and our desire to simply go along and survive--survive on a very marginalized level. Recall reports out of New Orleans of law enforcement officials telling evacuees that it's every one for themselves? Sheriffs "protecting" their own turf from the onslaught of the "others." This is what happens on the animal level when chaos ensues; when community bonds break, it unleashes the true nature behind our mask of civility. The real man or woman is exposed by the sheer will to survive another day. All those law and order minions dispatched to that Oklahoma camp site were on a very short leash and did not, apparently, find it necessary to question the chain of command. They will not because they have a toehold on survival and will not threaten their own place within that universive, regardless of how immoral or reprehensible. So much for religion and ethics. However, may I say to be cautious of the Rense and Alex Jones' sites; they are notoriously given to hyperbole and overstatement. I have read some pretty outlandish articles on both weblogs. I may agree that something most foul is afoot but let us not exacerbate the bad with hysteria. Our anguish is bad enough and needs no embellishment, IMO. Ego and greed sometimes screen out facts. We need to know what is happening; we do not need to be overwhelmed with myth or rumors based on imaginative superstition or outright fabrications. Shame on anyone who is adding to that dialogue. I might even think they are deliberately sending us in pursuit of our own tails. We are all subject to becoming a part of the problem if we are not careful. marilyn
