Kari, I am not the one who mentioned the Ted Kennedy restuarant incident. However, I have heard it spoken of many times.
When I mentioned him, I was implying (and meant it) that it is not good to give someone a "blanket" endorsement over one issue..or because he has had tragedy in his life.
Sure there was Specter's Magic Bullet theory that was ridiculous but that didn't make him wrong in all that he said or did. Same for anybody else.
I am sorry if your sensibilities and sensitivities were harmed. I truly am but I don't think we decided on an open forum that certain people would be "sacred cows" or that some people were off limits. Or that someone's actions are not to be questioned. And I couldn't tell of the "hold up" in the new powers/laws of the DOJ without mentioning who and what and for what reason it was BEING held up. You may or may not recall that one of the Kennedy women married an IRA member. Perhaps he is trying to look out for her family. But it might be at the expense of the rest of us.
About friendship. That works both ways and if I responded each and every time I got my sensibilities hurt on these postings, I'd be spending my whole time responding. But I don't do that each and every time. I let it go and don't unless I feel the "need" to respond.
