You know Jasper I agree with most of what you said. My biggest problem is the terrain of Afghanistan and how the USSR went bankrupt because of the twelve year war as well, it bothers me that Isreal intelligence says this was done by Iraq. I want the right people removed from society. I want their money given to all affected. I want their land, everything. Well, not their people. I also remember the pictures of Afghanistan when Russia went to war against them. They have been bombed into the 1300's. About fifteen or so years ago it looked that way. The pictures of dejected Russian soldiers and the people of Afghanistan bloody and crying over their generation of dead. I have to wonder, now that they have done their damage, while our military is over there, how do we know theirs won't show up here and take us over as we have a skeleton military and don't want to bomb ourselves. There are just so many variables that make this seem like a creative approach might get the best results. If we invade Afghanistan and actually prevail than we get to occupy this Country then we get to rebuild it. I find the mean words about sending the missles to preserve American lives after the Embassy bombings as perhaps people wise and result foolish however even had we invaded, we'd still be fighting and we'd be broke. Now the people of the United States just had 167 billion dollars stripped out of the Social Security fund. Now the elderly and disabled here will be insecure as our military tries to do what the USSr couldn't do in twelve years.
