THis doesn't surprise me. For years and years --through many administrations we have had this paradox of politics and civil rights and trade.
I heard that it is a little known fact that right now the Congress is fighting it out over the fact that the NEXT deal to sell a huge amt of wheat to the Afgan is in the works right now.
They are one of the biggest purchasers of wheat that the US has.
Both parties have treated China like a friend and neighbor --probably to our disadvantage for years. Not only our trade but our security secrets and the technology, etc.
I did hear of one place where somebody took a stand.
I heard that the Wal-Mart in Louisville turned down a shipment of American flags the other day when they could have sold them immediately to the people standing in line for them because the flags had been made by Afgans.
