Pantura,

I don't know you personally so I can respond only to what you wrote in one post - which is typical of what I've heard a hundred times before from callers on radio talk shows who don't have a clue what Iago in Brentwood is about.

This is the way it usually goes about ten minutes into a show:

Host: Caller, you're on the line with Jasper Garrison.

Caller: Mr. Garrison, everybody in his right mind (70 percent of white people and 10 percent of blacks) knows that O.J. did it. O.J. had a long history of stalking and beating Nicole. They proved that he owned the shoes - they had pictures of him wearing them. And what about the gloves and the sweatsuit he said he didn't own? They had pictures of him wearing them too….

Me: I'm afraid you've got some bad information there….

Caller: You're the one with the bad information. I looked at the facts. The rest is just logic.

Me: You looked at what you thought were the fact. Let me lay a few things on you that you can check for yourself….

Caller: That's just smoke and mirrors. You sound just like Johnnie Cochran - and he even he knows that O.J. did it. Did you hear O.J. on the 911 tapes beating Nicole and threatening her life?

Me: That's something I think you'll want to take a closer look at….

Caller: More smoke and mirrors. I heard the tapes and I saw the pictures. Look at all the DNA evidence. O.J. had Nicole's blood and Goldman's blood in his car. His blood was on the gloves and on the murder scene. He had Nicole's blood on his socks. He had blood going up his driveway - and the cut on his finger - that proves he did it right there.

Me: Doesn't it seem a little odd that Mark Fuhrman had something to do with ALL of that. And don't you think it's a least a little interesting that the evidence that fits O.J. also fits Fuhrman?

Caller: That's ridiculous. O.J. was caught trying to sneak into his house. He had no alibi. He had three or four different stories about what he was doing during the time of the murders. Fuhrman didn't have a motive and he DID have an alibi. And if O.J. didn't do it, why did he run? Innocent people don't run. Give me a break! I think O.J. paying you to spread this garbage!

If that doesn't sound anything like the way you analyzed the evidence, I apologize. It's just that in my experience, people who have no doubt about O.J.'s guilt INVARIABLY site the same kind of evidence. If there was no doubt about a quarter of these "facts" you would be right to conclude that anyone who didn't think O.J. did it was either terminally stupid or seriously self-deluded. The problem is, NONE of this stuff holds up under careful examination. But you'd have to make that kind of examination to know that. There is no doubt that you haven't. --Jasper
