Miss Marple,

You're right. "The terrible twos" does say it better. And I think that the examples you chose were right on the money. That also goes for your observation that he writes with pride about saying and doing things that if you or I did them we would be embarrassed to even think about.

I knew that you would get the click, click, click/ thump, thump, thump connection ("there's no place like home"). But did you notice the color of the slippers? Red, as in blood. Remember Dorothy (the cross street South Nicole's condo is Dorothy) got them off of the body of a woman who just had a house dropped on her. And remember that she clicks her red HEELS.

You will notice in Murder in Brentwood that in the close-up photo of Fuhrman pointing to the blood glove (where Nicole's shoeless body rests just out of sight) Fuhrman writes, "A closeup of the same glove and the black knit cap (note the distinctive heel impression in the foreground").

Oh yeah, the Wicked Witch of the East wore long stockings. Don't know if that means anything. Just thought you'd like to know. --Jasper
