Jean,
Here is a perfect example of somebody putting a piece to the side that they can't quit fit into place and somebody else picking it up and laying it down where it belongs.
Cain slew Able. Of course.
I remember now where I heard that business about black people bearing the mark of Cain. It was in one of those documentaries about the Klan and the "White Citizen's Counsels" that somebody did in the '60. A minister of a congregation of bigots was giving the Biblical justification for slavery and the genetic reasons why black people were more pone to violence than whites. I also remember my father saying something about that when I was a little kid. It was something he'd heard from a white man woman or child (wish now that'd I'd paid more attention) when he was a kid. Anyhow, I'm pretty sure that the idea goes back a long way; at least as far as the Civil War and probably farther than that.
For months, I scuffled with all of the overabundance train connections I was getting and found several good answers for them. But I didn't get the key that fit all of the locks until I saw an episode of Matlock where a guy was being framed with a peculiar combination of evidence and techniques that showed up on Bundy, on Rockingham and in court. Even then it hit me only when the guy said he was being "railroaded." I had been looking for a train or train tracks that Fuhrman might have crossed to get to Bundy or Rockingham. I should have been looking for a metaphor.
I never did get a fully satisfactory answer for why Michel Caine appeared in so many movies linked to Mark Fuhrman or the Bundy murder. I got so far as to see that people called Mike are sometimes mistakenly called Mark and visa versa. I even named a chapter in the first Smoking Gun The Mark of Caine. But I meant is as a play on words to show the impression that Michael Cain's movies clearly had on Fuhrman and the killer.
No doubt, there were many reasons and I'm sure that I found a number of them. But I think you've got the big one. The name Adam is very big in the Fuhrman collection of movies liked to the murders. I just saw an episode of Adam-12 that was crawling with links to Fuhrman, Nicole and O.J. In this one a woman was busting up a car with a baseball bat and a detective named Forrest was being impersonated by a criminal. Forrest Whitaker lived on Bundy a few blocks south of Nicole's condo. I believe Fuhrman named his son Adam. That's the name you can read on that creepy poem he left with the flowers on the murder scene. If you can think of any more specific reference to the mark of Cain, please let me know. --Jasper
