Charlie,
Each of the boards reflects the major themes of the books they are named after.
I set up the Iago Board to discuss all issues primarily related to the Bundy murders.
The Random Factor Board was for discussions of conspiracies involving anything of interest to the person doing the posting - hidden connections between institutions and individuals that could be working to nefarious ends -- that sort of thing.
The Doing Without Board is set up for free discussion of anything on any subject that anyone wants to raise. The idea here is for people to have a place to go where they can sound off about whatever is on their minds without fear of ridicule. Naturally, honest differences of opinion are encouraged, but this is where the "oddball" is king or queen - or both if he or she wants to be. At some point I expect this board to be the really hot one where new and challenging ideas are cooking all the time.
The Messiah Board is primarily concerned with spiritual matters: religion, metaphysics, personal feelings about God, the universe and a bigger hand in things than human beings can control.
The Smoking Gun Board is primarily for movie links between the Bundy murders and key figures in the case, especially Mark Fuhrman. Jean found some fascinating things in the fiction book by Chris Darden that is also best suited for this board. The point is, ideas have to come from somewhere. Books, movies, television, radio and stage shows have such a profound impact on our culture that some ideas from some of those sources are bound to seep into our thinking and show up in our work. There is very little in the Bundy murder case that you won't find on television or in the movies. That works both ways, of course, with real live incidents from Fuhrman's adventures in thuggery going into his "fiction" screenplay with Laura Hart. I'd like to see anything like that on the Smoking Gun Board.
The Invisible Warriors Board is for anything involving so-called "war and piece" issues at home or abroad. I have a friend who writes extensively on this issue. Every time I had him talked into kicking things off on this board the system when haywire or the boards were down.
The Firm League Board is mainly concerned with issues related to government an philosophy. Allita wrote a terrific piece on that board that kept getting routed by the UNIX system into a locked room we couldn't open. It has to be there somewhere. When we find it we will post it as new to give everyone a high standard to shoot for.
It seems to me that your observations about Fuhrman's appearance are best suited for Iago and RICCO is best suited for Random. When all of the boards get rolling the way they should it will be pretty obvious most of the time what kind of post belongs where. Ultimately, these are all judgment calls that I don't want anyone to be overly concerned about. When in doubt, toss a coin and go with whatever makes sense to you. --Jasper
