I have thought about and wondered about the sheer amount of Fed level law enforcement in the OJS case. FBI people were in and around on the night of the murder and thereafter. They interviewed witnesses from the airplane and other people (this allegedly is a local murder with no drug connections remember). Vannatter testified in court that the FBI, the DEA, and the DOJ helped in the case. He even stated that a lie detector test was made for them but ITO barred him from answering just WhO was given a lie detector test in the case.
He testified that the case had a "companion" case but did not go into details about it except to say that this companion case was investigated in Florida. It also was a city a Iowa which I don't recall the name now--but never did figure out how Iowa got into the deal.
The FBI was allowed to RETEST materials and evidence already tested by the LA Lab. This is a direct violation of their policy.
The FBI was allowed to TESTIFY in the civil trial which is another DIRECT VIOLATION of their policy.
Only permission and an OK from the Top Levels of the FBI could have given that permission.
The agents in the case were investigated by the Inspector General and some were found to have been involved in misconduct yet this was deliberately kept from the civil jury. The report appeared in the newspaper the very day the jury went into deliberations.
Instead of getting a demontion or a reprimand from Louie Freeh, they received personal commendations from him. It was Not until the Senate Hearings on the FBI lab that it was learned that the Chain of Command in the OJS case was totally ignored and the lab agents worked directly with and reported to Louie Freeh.
It was learned in the trial that the agents seemed to have gotten very close to Fred Goldman and one had his photo in his office. No such closeness was shown towards the Browns. Since the FBI was highly involved in the case of Patti Glass Goldman's ex-husband's case in Chicago back in the middle 80's, it makes you wonder about the "close" connection with the FBI. Since Patti and Fred (due to dates) had to have been seeing each other before her divorce from Marvin Glass, it makes you wonder just where she met up with Fred Goldman. And was he himself somehow involved in the case since they immediately left Chicago and went to Southern CA, which is known as the Witness Protection Program's biggest area of relocation? The older Glass son didn't have the time of day for the Goldman's and didn't move with them and refused to be involved in the trial, the book, and more. Why is that?
And how, when every tabloid was digging into the pasts of everybody in the case, did they MISS the Marvin Glass connection to Drugs, and money laundering and more?
And everybody in this case (Ron included) was one phone call away from major drug dealers. HOw was that kept out of the media for the most part and completely out of the trial?
Louie Freeh on June 15th, 1994 made a statement in the LA Times where he stated the DEA and the FBI were going to have to work more closely together when they had sting operations that overlapped "because innocent people were getting killed." Interesting timing for such a statement wasn't it? I know of no other case in and around that time in which he could have been referring to, do you?
Donald Freed reported, as did Sherman Skolnick that the Mezzaluna was the subject of a Major surveillance operation in which drugs, prostitution, porn and gigaloes were being investigated.
WHO has the power to keep these things OUT of the press?
How is it that it is NOT reported that just days before the OJ case begins that a murder case (the Gould case) is dismissed in court due to the direct tampering of evidence and destruction of evidence by Mark Fuhrman? That SHOULD have been a major story. If it hadn't been for Kate doing a major search, we would have never heard of it.
It doesn't it show up in a search of the LA Archieves until the name of the suspect, the victim, or Mark Fuhrman or under cases dismissed. The misconduct was done in April of 94, just a couple of months before the OJS case. We were told, weren't we, that MF wouldn't DO things like that. Hum?
And if that isn't enough for you, suddenly before the trial, Ito comes forward to do the trial after saying he wouldn't do it. Then just days before the actual trial began, his wife, Margaret York is put in charge of Internal Affairs and basically becomes the keeper of the secrets for not only Fuhrman but all cops in the case.
I mention the government and the media sometimes in the same sentence and that is on purpose. Anymore the press has become another arm of the government. Way too many reporters and journalists are just reporting the press conference notes as directed and never questioning the contents or checking them out.
Maybe others can think of other instances where the heavy hand of the government seems to have laid its hand in this case.
