From: Solitairea1 Date: 03 Sep 2005 Time: 07:02:24 AM Comments Trying to find info.on the person known as Faye D.Resnick, i came across a link to a Dr.Denise Fay Brown-Director of Latin American Studies Program. ....She is also listed as Asst. Proffessor, Dept. of Geography, of the University of Calgary in Canada. ....Dr.Denise Fay Brown PhD.,is from Vancouver, studied at McGill University (BA) and the University of Calgary (MA)........These are some of her Research Interests: Sociospatial Analysis, Cultural Landscapes, Community, Development, Indigenous Peoples, Latin America.... ...She got her PhD.,from the University of California......Also on the Faculty of Communication and Culture of the University of Calgary. ........................................ Now in reading Faye D.Resnick's book: "Nicole Brown Simpson: The private Diary of a Life Interrupted", in Chapter 5., on Page 54, she writes that her mother was of Spanish/Italian descent. That when Faye was 4 yrs. old, her mother supported her and her siblings by working as a nurse, and attending journalism courses at college. .....On Pg.57, she writes, that as she (Faye) grew into her teenage years, her mother became quite successful as a journalist........... Faye goes on to write that in every new town they moved to, her mother would get a job writing a column for the local newspaper........She writes, that most of the time, her mother wrote about issues of interest to Spanish communities......... Faye also writes that her mother became an activists for Latino causes. She writes that her mother wanted to write for other women of Spanish descent and inspire them to be proud of their culture. .....Faye also writes, that when they were living in California, her mother was writing a column called "La Catora," which means "The Parrot." Faye's mother would write the column in English, then translate it into Spanish........... Faye also writes that her mother became very well known in her field after she turned to holistic medicine. ....She write's, that as a holistic doctor, her mother published many articles on the subject. .........Now as intentionally vague as Faye is about Anything to do with her past, and since we have no names on Faye's parents, including her mother's maiden name, and also Faye's step father's name, not to mention her father's name, and Faye's name on her birth certificate, including any name changes Faye very probably has had,Not including her "marriages", i'm curious to know, if it's possible that this person, Dr.Denise Fay Brown,PhD., may be Faye's mother, or if not, perhaps a sibling, or some close relative. ........Also, in Faye's Civil Trial Deposition, Faye say's she was born on July 3, 1957. ....She said she had a sister who had died a few years before, and being as vague as always, named a Patricia Elizabeth Hutchinson as one of her siblings. I'm not clear if this is the sister who died, but that's the only name Faye gives about herself and her family. ............. Now since Faye wrote this vague info. about her mother in her book, there are some clues. I am also wondering, if anyone who speaks Spanish, or not, had ever heard of this well known column Faye's mother wrote called "La Catora" meaning "The Parrot". And any well known holistic Doctor who published many articles on the subject, and who was a well known Activist for Latino causes, and who wrote about issues of interest to Spanish communities, including Latin Culture, and Latin Culture regarding women. ...........Here's two links i found. Also, on the Knowledge Base Board, there's a thread for info. on Faye. If you click on the post titled:" Faye D.Resnick/Excerpts", you'll be able to read more about Faye's account of her childhood/background, as sketchy and vague as she intentionally makes it. Here's the two links about a Dr.Denise Fay Brown, PhD.,Director of Latin American Studies Program, University of Calgary, in Canada. .............................. http://www.ucalgary.ca/UofC/faculties/COMCUL/Web/instr/brown.html http://www.las.ucalgary.ca/las1/research/board_director.htm ............................................ For those who have Faye's book, in the post i refered to on the Knowledge Base Board, you can look it up, i listed Chapter/Pages. For those who don't have the book, i tried my best to include most info., in the Chapter 5., about her account of her childhood/background.I hope someone reading this post, and the one's on the Knowledge Base Board may recognize something in these clues...... And any idea's and opinions on Dr.Denise Fay Brown and any possibility of a familial link to the person known as Faye D.Resnick. .................. ..................................................
