Jolana, I failed to mention that the ice cream clerk who saw Nicole, and her two children (but not Rachel) and Nic talking to the man in the suit---insisted that she was there after 10PM and was closer to 10:30.
The cops beat him down (and threatened with immigration problems I'll bet as he was Asian) by telling him he was WRONG. That he HAD to be wrong as Nicole was dead by 10:15.
But as we know, Heistra's events happened at 10:40 and after and the phone call to her Mom was 10:17 according to hints given. So she was not in fact dead by 10:15. That was the ONLY reason the clerk backed up his time to between 9 and 10. He refused to go back further than that.
Remember, this was June and he would know whether it was daylight still outside or if it were dark.
It was another one of those cases that we hear--who are you going to believe--us or your lying eyes?
