Before I move on, let me remind everybody that MF doesn't list the keys either in his "notes" from that night. He lists the hat, glove and pager but not the keys. The ring could not be seen under Ron at that time.
The blue jean jacket was seen in the kitchen and then disappeared.
Why? To bolster the idea that Ron had not come inside? To hide that someone else had been there earlier? A mistake--it was Nicole's but someone didn't know that and wanted any evidence of someone being there earlier or that Ron came inside removed? Or they KNEW whose jacket it was and they removed it?
Chris Springer has speculated because Fuhrman did know Nicole-perhaps very well --that it was his own jacket left behind earlier.
Nicole would not necessarily be suspicious of MF showing up and coming inside.
We have always thought of this as a secret attack but that doesn't necessarily have to be true.
It could well be that someone known to Nicole showed up prior to Ron's arrival and his turning on both of them may have been the shocker but being known got him inside.
At the least, it was to remove any evidence of another person having been there or the appearance that somebody else had been there.
