That was my guess.
It had to have been someone with easy access to one or both caps and a stake in seeing that O.J. was framed for the murders - or whatever he or she thought the killer would do with the cap. That narrows the field considerably.
Then there were Nicole's missing keys that Faye and Cora had different stories for. When you examine both stories carefully and toss in the missing garage door opener, Faye comes up short. If Faye took the keys and the garage door opener, why not the cap? --Jasper
