Fuhrman's "invisible partner" Brad Roberts is looking more and more like the keeper of the checklist. Sharing information is a big part of what partners do. In that Fuhrman and Roberts were partners, whatever we say about Roberts in regard to the keeper of the checklist, we can also say about Fuhrman.
We know that Roberts interviewed Schwab (the man who found the bloody Akita) and McKennon (the man who reported seeing a light colored SUV near Bundy). We also know that Fuhrman and Roberts interviewed Rosa Lopez (the Salinger's housekeeper). We know that neither of them asked her the key question that Fuhrman asked Kato "Did anything unusual happen last night?" We know that neither of them reported the interview until Fuhrman was forced to after Rosa's testimony. And we know that Fuhrman answered the phone at Rockingham when a number of people, including Candice Garvy and Ron Shipp, called the house on the 13th. We can therefore safely assume that several people with O.J. phone number talked to either Fuhrman or Roberts before they talked to any other detective on the case.
How do we know so much about the first contacts of key witnesses being made to Fuhrman or Roberts? Not because they wrote about them in their reports. Roberts made no reports of any kind and Fuhrman flat out lied in the preliminary hearing about who his parter was. We know because of bits and pieces of information from various sources that led back to them.
During the preliminary hearing, about three weeks after the murders, Fuhrman went out of his way to hid Roberts. He went so far as to claim there were only four detectives on the case (Vannatter, Lange, Phillips and himself). During the criminal trial it became obvious that there were at least eight working detectives on the case and Phillips wasn't one of them. This wasn't mere oversight on anyone's part. It was deliberate deception and everyone closely involved in the prosecution, including Bill Hodgman and Marcia Clark knew it. The defense didn't.
During the criminal trial, about nine months after the murders, Fuhrman referred to Roberts as his "regular" partner. But by then, the defense was operating on the idea the Phillips was Fuhrman's partner and the importance of Roberts went right past them. They regarded him as just another detective on the case. Phillips helped that idea along by strongly suggesting that Roberts was teamed with Det. Nolan.
This is Phillips explaining what he did after he called Fuhrman…
Phillips: I then called a detective Brad Roberts who also works West Los Angeles Detectives in the Homicide unit. I informed him of the situation that I had just been informed of and asked that he respond to West L.A. Station and pick up his unit and meet me at the location also.
Cochran: And what did you do after that?
Phillips: I then also notified - I believe I might have done this on my cellular phone en route to the station - I also notified Tom Nolan who is a West L.A. Homicide detective. I believe I notified Tom Nolan after I made three other attempts to notify three other detectives who were not available. And then I notified Tom Nolan and he said he would meet Detective Roberts either at the station or at the scene depending on what time they got in there together.
Does this sound like a pairing of Roberts and Fuhrman or Roberts and Nolan?
Why was it so important for Fuhrman, Vannatter, Lange, Phillips and Marcia to separate Roberts from Fuhrman in the collective mind of the defense during the trial and so important for Fuhrman to write about him in his book? …Because Roberts' absence mattered a great deal to the way the defense approached the case and his presence mattered a great deal to Fuhrman's credibility when he was convicted of perjury and Roberts was no longer subject to be called as a witness under oath. --Jasper

Jasper, There came a point in the testimony when Phillips angerly stated to Cochran not to refer to Fuhrman as his partner because he was NOT.
And either Fuhrman lied about who his partner was or he lied in the statements later. Either way--he lied.
And throw in that the Watch Commander said in court that he had no idea who Roberts was. That he asked somebody who he was and what was he doing on the scene that night. Said he was told that Roberts worked out of his station. Odd that he had never seen him or know who he was.
It is very obvious that something very strange is up with Roberts.
He interviewed some key people--including Schwab-- could HE be the Keeper of the Checklist?
