They want to belive something so bad for their own psycological needs that they lose all power to think in any type of logical or common sense way.   It is hopeless. There is no evidence that I can imagine that could change their minds. Confessions, eye witnesses or even vidio tape would not do it.   They have to much of their paychi invested in believeing that the black man, or the rich man or whatever is a monster to ever reason with them.   It is a matter of seeing the monster in someone else, so they don't have to look at the monster inside. It is called projecting. Jean On to 2002!!! Yup, you're right about that. Hey, there were Germans fanaticlly committed to Hitler even after everything collapsed around them. Only then, they just kept on blaming the Jews for all his misfortunes (and, of course, traitors in their midst). Hallucinations are ever ever so much more comfortable to hold, especially when they confirm congenital prejudices. But I also understand that the blief system of some who insist on Simpson's guilt goes beyond mere racist prejudices. It goes to the beliefs on which oeiple base their conviction that Oswald did it. You see, the recognition that Simpson did not do it also means accepting the fact that the governement deliberately framed an innocent man, and that there was a well planned conspiracy behind this murder plot that served some very definite purpose beyond merely killing the victims. It is just too diffcult for some people to accept that truth. That's why the Germans "didn't know" what was going on during WWII. It was much to destructive psychologically to see the truth. So they lived the lie. We're heading in the same direction. Simpson case proves it. And I really don't give a damn whether I convince August or the NoJ's of anything. It's their reactions to to the truth that I am interested in. Most enlightening. Prien Re: Kestler Glances Furtively at the Socks
