The rule-of-thumb (at least when I was a kid) was: “Never talk about religion, sex or politics in a social atmosphere!” I took this to heart and still abide by this rule on a regular basis…not because I am afraid that I’ll tick someone off, but rather, incite a riot about something I’m not remotely passionate about.

Abortion? That’s your business. Atheist, Catholic, Baptist? That is your business. Straight, gay, bi? That’s your business!
Why are some (most) people so passionate about choices that other people have to make?
