Sears did got rid of my sister who was in management in a really disgusting way. She had walked the floors, nicely dressed as an example, for years.
So her feet broke down. So when they wanted rid of her they changed her job requirements so that she had to be on the floor even more, when at that point she should have primarily been in her office. She also had to go in at 4am to supervise the cleaners and them close the store after 10oclock. After this they came with a nice deal of early retirement. They did this to most of the older management. Most of their retirement was in stock and Sears stock was way down at the time, so she had to work.
She went on to get a better job in a couple of years and retired from there also. So she actually ended up better off.
But I will never forgive Sears.
